I laughed right out loud when I read this as the first word on my list, as I've been having such a crisis with drumming as of late. Back in 2004, our school music teacher approached me about being in a steel drum band. Some of my coworkers were already in the band, and they had already been playing for a while and while I liked how it sounded.. it wasn't something I wanted to do. I don't read music, I don't play instruments, and they were all going to be better and futher along then me... which is what it really came down too. It's different when you are all brand new and haven't a clue.. I was going to be wretched by myself. Mrs. M is the kind of person who you can't say no to however, and so I agreed to give it a try.

Let's Talk About Me.. Let's Talk About I.....
Carly sent me 5 words that make her think of me, and then I'm supposed to come here and blog about those 5 words. Forget that Carly is fighting cancer right now, and feeling like crap and losing her hair.. and generally being the bravest person I know.. yet still gets on and blogs more than I have. Carly asked me to to this, and so for course.. here it is. It's long, and I included photos, because what is a blog post without photos?

Best Laid Plans and all That
Last night, our HS opened their production of "The Wedding Singer", amongst controversy about the language and adult nature of the show. Because our HS shares their building with the Middle School, productions are open to anyone who wants to try out in grades 7-12. So of course, Ms. Thang was there on the first day of try outs. She performed in many plays during her elementary years, having lead parts and solo singing acts as evidenced here, here and here.
Because she is only in 7th grade, she wasn't eligible for a lead role in the show, but along with being in the production as the singers/dancers/guests at the wedding etc.. she had a minor role as the ticket sales person. We are so very proud of her. The show runs through Saturday night and secretly I'll be glad when it's over because she is just exhausted.

In Which We Find March.. or how the blog marches on without me
I am making it a goal, for the month of March, to come here at LEAST 2x a week and post something new. I do have things to share, I do have photos I take (every day, I'm doing a project this year) that I could tell you about... what I don't have is mental energy. This never ending winter is sucking my life away. Last week was winter break.. and while Monday was gorgeous.. the rest of the week was either snowy, or torrential rains, and then more snow.
But enough of that. I have 2 goals for March. Run more. (That will be hard to fail at, because I ran a grand total of 3x last month. Three. How pathetic is that?) Then of course, there is blog more.
