Best Laid Plans and all That

Last night, our HS opened their production of "The Wedding Singer", amongst controversy about the language and adult nature of the show. Because our HS shares their building with the Middle School, productions are open to anyone who wants to try out in grades 7-12. So of course, Ms. Thang was there on the first day of try outs. She performed in many plays during her elementary years, having lead parts and solo singing acts as evidenced here, here and here.
Because she is only in 7th grade, she wasn't eligible for a lead role in the show, but along with being in the production as the singers/dancers/guests at the wedding etc.. she had a minor role as the ticket sales person. We are so very proud of her. The show runs through Saturday night and secretly I'll be glad when it's over because she is just exhausted.

Last Saturday we spent 12.5 hours at the HS for the regional Destination Imagination meet. Our 3 school teams, including the freshmen team my son is on, moved on to the state meet which is on the 27th of this month. We are proud of him as well.
To say we have been busy around here is a gross understatement because busy doesn't even cut it. I'm getting ready to buy a Taxi sign for the top of the car in jest, and as much as the idea of Mr. Man starting to drive this summer scares the hell out of me.. it means that 6 months after he'll be able to get his licence and there is a secret part of me that cannot wait.
