He is Risen!

Happy Easter. What a glorious time of year. For those of the faith, it is a time of rebirth and renewal. For those who are not, spring is still a time for rebirth. Grass comes back, leaves sprout, flowers grow.. the earth comes back to life after a long winters nap.

Spring hasn't quite arrived up here in the great white North, but it will soon enough. And until then, it leaves me time to ponder some of life's great mysteries.

What is the connection between the resurrection, and a fluffy bunny bringing chocolate eggs? Although I guess that leads to the "what is the connection between Christ's birth and a man in a red suit?" question also. I have no answer for either.

What evil person created plastic basket grass? I mean.. for crying out loud. It shows up until Christmas. I refuse to buy it. I don't need it clogging up my vacuum cleaner and showing up at Labor Day.

And while we were discussing evil things.. lets talk about egg dye. They give you 9 colors for a dozen eggs. Each needing its own dish. We did 18 eggs, 2 eggs per color. What do you do with all the leftover dye? Who needs to dye enough eggs to use that all? Do I need 18 eggs? Hell no. My kids don't care much for eggs, and 18 eggs makes a lot of egg salad. I saw somewhere else today where someone used their leftover dye to dye some natural wool. It came out in lovely Easter egg colors. Except for the purple. I don't understand why the purple causes such problems?

For these questions I have no answers... so I bid you a Happy Easter.
