Hey Mista.. Throw Me Some Beads!

Last year, about this time... or maybe a few months past this time (it was a long time ago, cut me a break) I received in the mail a huge, heavy box. It was jam-packed full of Mardi-Gras beads from Sgt, (who hasn't blogged in a year) and not the fake kind either. Honest to God beads from Mardi-Gras. I waited all year long to wear as many as I could stand the weight of, to discover that Mardi-Gras falls during winter break this year. I'm so OK with that. My brother S is coming over on Tuesday and I fully plan to wear some beads and give him some to wear also. Why the heck not right? If I were more ambitious, I'd have planned on a Kings Cake, but I wasn't sure if he was coming on Tuesday or Wednesday. Someday in my life I'd actually like to go to Mardi-Gras, but I'm a bit weary of large crowds and not sure how that'd go over.

Either way, winter break is finally here. We are going to go to Magic Wings, and we are going to visit my beautiful baby niece.. and hang out and do nothing. I hope to get some running in. I'm having an issue with pain on the left side of my right foot under my ankle, kind of on my foot. I've decided that as it hurts wiether I run or not.. I'm just going to run and to hell with it. It started hurting after I went for a run on some poorly plowed snow covered roads, and hasn't stopped yet. It actually feels better today but I did a lot of snuggling under a blanket and knitting while I watched movies, so there you have it. I was hoping by now it'd be fully better, and I'm nervous about damaging the foot or ankle, so I only ran 1x a week for the first 2 weeks after I hurt it, and I ran 2x last week and then called it quits. I'm going for 3x this week.. hurt or no hurt. I want to get back into my running routine and this isn't helping. I can't wait for the weather to get better and it to get lighter earlier so I can get back to walking before school again. It's funny the things you miss.
