Flash It Friday

Sooooooooooo.. what's new? How ya'll been??? I've been busy over here with things like shoveling mountains of snow, and trying not to freeze to death.. and other things with names like school is kicking my arse and knitting a sweater. Right now I'm taking a breather while The Boy cooks dinner (it's Friday during lent.. this week I broke down and agreed to frozen fish pieces and fries, so don't be too impressed.. although he is becoming quite the chef!) and enjoying some Valentine's Tea from Adagio Teas. Dudes, once you go loose leaf in a teapot, you'll never got back to bags. Anyhow, this was a sample that I will defiantly be getting a bigger tin of. It's got a hint of chocolate that is lovely plain.. or extra decadent with just short of a teaspoon of sugar and a splash of milk. I was going for "avoid snacking before dinner" and added the sugar and milk. Mmmmmmmm. In the spirit of my word for the year.. which is pause.. I decided that the list of things I "should be" doing really is just stuff that is going to still be there later on, so I mozied over here for a visit. February is typically my least favorite month of the year, and I'm surprised that I've gotten to the half way point without too much hum-drum. I've been awake more, doing more, and aside from grumbling about the snow... in a better place then I was last year or the year before. It can't be due to more sun exposure, because the sun must've forgot all about us out here... but whatever it is.. I'll take it.

Today I wore my brand new sweater to school! I started knitting it last weekend.. no Thursday during our 2 hr. delay.. and finished it last night. I could've finished it much sooner.. but I didn't work on it for a few days. I'm fickle like that. It worked up on size 17 needles (15 for the neck) and let me tell you.. those babies are BIG! This is the first adult sweater I've ever knit, and I'm quite pleased with myself. It is 100% Highland Peruvian Wool, and warmer than warm. The pattern was a top down pullover from Knitting Pure & Simple, in size small, and I am looking forward to knitting a v-neck pullover tunic next. Their patterns really are fantastic. My daughter took these photos out back after school today. Yes, that is a bit of red on my cheeks. I went snowshoeing at school today and the sun was out and so was the wind. Regardless of how the outing turned out... the actual snowshoeing part until the end was awesome and I enjoyed every minute of getting paid to do something I enjoy. Anyhow, Ms. Thang told me to "look cold!"... so that is why this pic. is so funny. She's quite a hoot. TGIF.. I'm off for some tasty adult beverages and a movie.

Hmm... I don't know why "gj" ended up at the end of my typing. I think it was the first 2 letters of the verification word. But let's just say it stands for "good job"!
