March Madness

Holy Cannoli... What a crazy few weeks it's been! I know that Wednesday is usually reserved for random things, but all my updates equal one random pot of stuff..so we'll do it a few days early.

It's baby week around these here woods.. my friend Amy who was due to have her baby next Monday (via c-section) has been moved up to St. Patrick's day. That is pretty exciting. Little Cormick will be making his big appearance in time to celebrate the big day and we're so excited.

My friend Jen, who isn't due until April 10th, was rushed up to Lebanon this weekend. She woke up Saturday and had bleeding, and it turns out that she's hemorrhaging, slowly they hope, but it's Monday and she's still bleeding so they can't come to any definitive answer, but they think her uterus is separating. She is slowly losing amniotic fluid although not as much, so they are hoping to hold out until Wednesday to take little Liam. He is about 4.5 pounds right now, and Wed. she will be exactly 35 weeks, so chances are that all will be fine, but it's a very stressful time right now for everyone. She's in good spirits however. A little worried about the c-section, as she was planning on going all natural, on her terms.

On other fronts, school is going well. I'm still having eye issues, mostly when I read. I think my prescription has changed for the reading part of my glasses (remember that they are progressive bifocals) and the stupid eye Dr's office cancelled my appt. for the 18th and moved me to April 1st. (ugh). But, we pulled all the polar bears down today, and are doing a little art study unit. Monet and Van Gough at the moment (I so love Monet, so don't care for Van Gough) and it's right up my alley. I started hanging our new pictures today (love 50% off calendar sales at the book store) and it already looks so much brighter and cheerier.

I had to walk over to the town hall today to drop off our annual land use survey.. and on my way back, I noticed that some of my early spring flowers are pushing up through the ground. The only thing is, we usually get a March blizzard that crushes them back down.. but I have hope that we will skip the blizzard this year. Who wants more snow? Not I.

Other than that... it's just busy. We drove out to the coast this weekend to visit our friends who relocated and to celebrate their son's 5th birthday (omg, how is he 5??) and it was such a gorgeous day for a drive. And it was soooooooooo nice to drive 200 plus miles round trip in a good car! I love our caravan. I take back all the "old man car" comments I made earlier. It kicks arse!!

I'll try to be better.. but I can't make any promises.

Sending positive thoughts to your friend Jen.

I love that a simple scenery change can brighten up a day.
