In Which We Find... A Day Off!!!

There is something so lovely about an unexpected day off. I didn't plan to have today off. After all, I am taking a personal day on Friday to go drum at The Big E... but yet here I am. My son is home with a sore throat/fever/headache thing, and while he looks much better than yesterday, his fever was still high this morning so I kept him home. It's nice to take a sick day when you aren't the one sick! Don't get me wrong. I love my job. I love leaving every day and being a productive member of society. (and all you SAHM's.. don't read that wrong.. I loved that too!) But the weekends are so hectic and crazy right now, that there isn't a lot of relaxing going on. And today, while I've been busy this morning, and my chores are 2/3 done.. I'll be finished by lunch. And this afternoon will be spent relaxing. Maybe some knitting. Maybe some gardening. Maybe a walk. Maybe I'll have some birds visit the yard and spend some time just watching them. This lovely woodpecker came yesterday while I was mowing. The best part, was that I was able to get so close to get the photo, and he didn't budge. He is a frequent visitor. I've noticed a lot of geese flying south lately.. fall is on it's way.

I wanted to send a shout out to all of you who's blogs I normally visit and I can't comment on. I upgraded to the Google version of Blogger.. and right now it's not comment compatible with the old blogger version. So I can only comment on other blogs that have upgraded to the Google beta. Clear as mud right?

I got the hedges trimmed yesterday. That is always such a big chore, although The Boy did graciously rake up all the trimmings after so that saved some time. My new hedge trimmers he bought me in the spring really do make a big difference, but it's harder on my arms to hold up a heavier trimmer and I'm quite sore today. But don't they look all nice? My neighbor/friend things I should trim them down to about 3 feet... but I like them tall. They make a nice fence and the birds love to play in them and take shelter in the winter.

My to-do list isn't getting any shorter, but we do have a few projects going on. We, I shouldn't say that.. The Boy is working on a project.. I'm just offering unwanted advice. The fall cleaning has been started... but that resulted in said project and we've reached a bit of a standstill. Who has time for fall cleaning?? I certainly don't at the moment. But I need to map out a plan to get it done. Due to unforeseen events, our family Christmas gathering is going to be the second Saturday in December, so I don't have as much time as normal. But anyhow.. I am running out of "before lunch" time.. so I will leave you with this shot of Bella. Looks like she has the right idea.

We'll take 'em however we can get 'em, right? I hope he's up to snuff soon, though.

That non-compatible thing is for the birds, isn't it? If you wanna leave a comment, you can, as anon. That's what I've been doing. That, and telling my friends how to convert over! :)

This whole google-blogger thing sounds like it'll be awesome in about three months. Right now I would love to find out how to upgrade/switch/morph my blog into a google blog (I want those tags on my posts!), but don't know how.

But it appears I can still comment on your blog - hooray!
