Hey Brother Noah.....
Friday afternoon, before we all headed out for a much needed long weekend, a few of us were standing around talking about our what we planned to do with our time off. Some people had a wedding to attend to, some of us had soccer and in-laws, and drinking was discussed readily.
We also talked about how the coming rain showers were probably going to ruin a lot of our plans. Some of us (we won't mention any names, *cough*) hoped it might pour so we could skip soccer and make our hellish day a bit easier. Someone else asked when the rain was supposed to stop, and I mentioned that I had seen the 5 day forecast and they were calling for rain every day. Someone else, who shall not be mentioned, piped up that when we got rain for that many days they started thinking of Noah and the ark.
FFWD to Saturday. It started pouring during the wee hours of the morning, and it didn't stop until 30 hours later. In that short amount of time, we received 11 inches of rain.(that's 11 feet of snow if anyone cares) Let's think of that a bit. You might remember this post from earlier this summer, when we received 11.5 inches of rain over 4 days and my yard flooded. We drove in from my MIL's house last night about an hour before the flooding (ok, so it was 1am.. we got damn lucky). An hour before they started knocking on doors and evacuating people out. I can't imagine anyone being well recived at 2am if they came knocking on my door.
Streets have been washed away. Houses have been washed away. Cars are ruined. Classes all around the region have been cancelled (fortunately for most of us we had the day off anyhow). People still aren't being allowed back into their homes. And they are calling for more rain.

this is a test
Sooo...did you get out of going to the mil's house?
Wow! I don't what area you live in, but that looks almost as bad as New Orleans after Katrina! I'm so sorry that you're city has turned into a river. Seems Mother Nature's been a bit of a terror lately.
This is so scray. Way to many mother nature things are happening. ARe you still at MIL's?
No.. LOL. We still went, and made it home ok. We suffered no flooding (sometimes it pays to live uphill) thankfully. The devestation in the towns around our county is just unbelieveable however.
I saw NH on CNN today while at the Dr. office waiting on Pa to get done...my, my! It is terrible! So glad you are safe and uphill, and praying for those all around you!
