In Which We Find A Meeting, A Veggie Burger and A Lot Of Pain

Happy Sunday ya'll. Sorry I've been away from the blog. This was a crazy, busy week. I know it's not an excuse, but it's all that I have. I don't have any recent photos, so I am sharing one from January 8th of last year. This is Mt. Monadnock as seen from the hill at school. We had gotten quite a snow the night before, and Ms. Thang went sledding with my little friend Lily from across the street. We haven't had snow this year (more than 1.5 inches), but they are calling for a storm tomorrow. Last I heard they were looking at 4-6 inches. We don't have school, so it will be nice to be at home cozy and warm.

The meeting on Friday went very well from what I can gather. It would seem they got in there and the principal quickly realized that he had made a mistake in calling the meeting because Mr. Man isn't a behavior problem. But instead they discussed his academic progress and how he is bored with school, and some great things are going to happen for him. He's going to have an IQ test and an Academic Progress test (to see what grade level he really is working at)... between now and February vacation. And then we are going to meet again and discuss where we go from here. There has been talk of a half day internship somewhere else in the field that he'd like to go into. There was some talk of having him finish the year in 7th grade, but while academically I think he'd be fine, socially I'm not so sure and I am not going to pursue that route.

Last week was a rather crappy week for me at school, and DH got a gift card to Uno's for Christmas from someone he works with, so he took us all out to dinner Friday night. I wasn't in the mood for pizza, and my mouth hurt (more on this in a minute) so I ordered my very first veggie burger. I was pretty impressed. And the nice thing was, I wasn't "full" when I was done eating. I hate going out to eat, because I eat about half my meal and I'm done. We even shared a desert, and it was nice.

Thursday night my back teeth started aching. Not too bad.. but enough for me to pop some Advil. I had work done on the very back tooth a couple years back and it's been very sensitive to the cold ever since. It hasn't been cold here, until Thursday, so I thought.. well this makes sense. Friday at school I started getting throbbing pains back there. I took an Advil/Tylenol mix per the nurse's instructions.. and the pain just broke through the meds. It would be fine, then it would hurt awful for 20 mins.. etc. etc. Finally I called my dentist at home (he doesn't work Friday's).. and he called me back later on after I was home. He left yesterday for a thing for school.. and won't be back until Thursday. He called me in a script for penicillin and Tylenol 3... and told me if it gets too bad to call one of the backup dentist and he'd see me Friday (on his day off). Friday night wasn't too bad. Yesterday wasn't too bad... but last night.. OMG. What is it about night and pain? Even the Tylenol 3 didn't but take the edge off the pain. I took 800 mg of Advil at 6:30am when I got up to take my pen... hoping it would help take the edge off and I could sleep... but no luck. I don't like to take the Tylenol 3 during the day, but I took some an hour ago, and finally we're down to a bit of dull ache.. but I don't know how much further I can go on like this. And of course, it's a holiday weekend. There seriously isn't anything worse than pain in your mouth. I was just at the dentist on Columbus Day having my teeth cleaned, so I don't know what can be the cause of this.. but I do grind my teeth when I sleep, especially when I am stressed out.. and I wonder if I've just ground the enamel away and the nerve/pulp .. something is exposed. I can's sleep well, I don't feel like eating... it's awful. If you're inclined, think some good thoughts for me. I'm going to call tomorrow and see what they can do for me.
