J is for..

J is for judgemental. Which I am not. Or I thought I wasn't.. until today.

Have you heard this?? Can you believe, that in the good ole United States of America.. someone had the gall to change the Star Spangled Banner into spanish??

Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against spanish speaking people. I'm not even on that "let's kick the illegals out of the country" bandwagon. But, I have to agree with the boy on this one (gawd, if he hears this his head will get even bigger).. if you are going to live in the United States, you should speak the language. Learn English. We shouldn't have to change everything to suit your needs. You are in OUR country.. learn to speak OUR language. I shouldn't have to learn a new language just so I can understand you.

And Dubya... (man I must be sick.. feverish even).. said the best thing I've heard since 9/11 when he spoke to the nation..

With passions running high over the release of "Nuestro Himno," a Spanish-language version of the national anthem, Bush told reporters that people who want to be citizens of the United States should learn English and "ought to learn to sing the national anthem in English."

Well said George. Well said.

Dear God... I thought I was completely alone in thinking what he said was totally on target... Thanks Beth... good to know I'm in such great company as you.

Hugs,
Lis

(who I promise is NOT forgetting we kinda took over this great land from peoples with many different tongues and we've totally not revered them as we should have...but that's a whole different rant for a whole different day...)
